Matt Flynn, Secretary

Matt joined the Board of Trustees in 2019, and currently serves as Secretary. After his time as a ROTC Cadet and Army Officer, Matt understands the challenges that young cadets face and the importance of support from organizations like the Cmar Scholarship Fund, Inc. He is committed to helping tomorrow’s leaders.

After growing up in northern New York, Matt attended Clarkson University on an ROTC scholarship. While at Clarkson, he was the student manager in the marketing department and active in several student organizations including Phalanx (Clarkson’s highest honorary society). After graduating and commissioning as a Distinguished Military Graduate (DMG), Matt was part of less than 1% of cadets in the nation selected to attend law school.

At UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law, Matt served as the president of the Veterans Law Society, and Vice Justice of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity. He was also a Daniel Webster Scholar and junior editor on the IDEA Law Review. While in law school, Matt clerked for a global military law firm, Myers, Conway & Associates.

Following his Honorable Discharge, Matt continued to assist service members and veterans by working in military law and concentrated on appellate advocacy.  For the last three years, he has served as Assistant County Attorney at the Merrimack County Attorney’s Office.
